The Sierrans for Responsible Resource Development (the “Sierrans”) is a non-profit social welfare organization formed to educate residents, businesses, government agencies, and the community about the benefits of responsible and sustainable resource industries in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

WHO ARE WE?
The Sierrans represent and are a voice for those residents of the Sierra Nevada Mountains who work in, have worked in, or have an appreciation for the resource industries and associated services industries. We represent those who believe and are committed to responsible and sustainable resource development in the Sierra Nevada Mountains to preserve the land for future generations. We represent the resource industries including mining, forestry, agriculture, oil and gas, and recreation (e.g. hunting and fishing), and the associated support and service industries.
WHAT DO WE DO?
One of our goals is to educate our members and the public about the resource industries and their importance to society. We plan to work on historical and cultural preservation projects, clean-up projects, and other projects that are related to the resource industries and improve the lives of residents of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We plan to monitor legislative issues that affect the resource industries, educate our members and the public about these issues, and work to improve and streamline existing and proposed regulatory requirements for the resource industries. We will work to preserve and create employment in the Sierra Nevada Mountain and to generate tax dollars for our local communities.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
The best way to assist us is to join our organization and help create a voice that represents the resource industries and associated support and service industries in the Sierra Nevada Mountains on a local, regional, state, and national level. Come to our meetings, meet other like-minded people, and learn more about what we do and what our plans are for the future. We are looking for individual, corporate, and associate members to join us. We would like to learn about the issues that affect you and see what we can do to help. Become a positive, pro-active voice for those who live or work in the resource industries in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
