This can range from recording interviews with "oldtimers" to preserve the history and culture of their lives and communities in the Sierra Nevada Mountains to restoring equipment or preserving artifacts left from historic activities of the resource industries.  Please contact of if you think you have a project that we could help with or take on.  Contact us if you want to help with historical preservation projects. Cultural Preservation Projects

The resource industries played a major role in determining the historic and cultural identity of communities in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.  This included impacts to the native population and immigration from all over the world to work in mining, agriculture, forestry, and other resource industries.  In the 1970's, with increasing population, movement of people from urban to rural communities, and transformation to a service economy, the need has arisen to preserve the historical and cultural identity of many communities in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.  Contact us if you have a cultural presentation project that we could take on.  Contact us if you want to help with cultural preservation projects.  We endeavor to work with other individuals, groups, companies, or government agencies doing historical preservation work in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.    Please see our Giving tab on this website for information on how you can help us.

Conservation Projects

The Sierrans plan to work on a variety of conservation projects to preserve the Sierra Nevada Mountains for use of future generations.  Such projects could include closing historic mine workings, clean up of abandoned mine and other historic resource industry sites, reforestation projects, mercury removal projects from rivers that were impacted by historic mining activities, and much more.  We work to obtain funding from corporations or obtain grants to fund these projects and the number and scope of projects is based on available funding.  Contact us if you have a project that we could take on.  Contact us if you wish to help with conservation projects.  This could include providing labor, supply of materials, supply of equipment, funding of project, or other ways that your invaluable assistance can help preserve and improve the Sierra Nevada Mountains.  We endeavor to work with individuals, groups, companies, or government agencies doing conservation project and hope you will volunteer to help.  Please see our Giving tab on this website for information on how you can help us.
